Offshore wind: Public management, environmental and societal implications
The background for this study is that offshore wind power is emerging as a major source of renewable electricity. While it carries less potential for conflict and negative consequences than onshore wind, offshore wind also has societal and environmental implications which must be properly managed in a regulatory framework.
The report is in Norwegian language and addressing a Norwegian context, but has much relevance also for other jurisdictions having offshore wind resources. It was written by two of our partners (Bjørn Kristoffersen and Ove Tobias Gudmestad) and a third colleague (Sigurd Kinn). The report can be found here:

Value chain analysis for the oil sector
This study was made for the African Development Bank. It reviews the oil sector as an international business and its implications for African economies, with opportunities and pitfalls in its management for the benefit of Africans. It covers the management of petroleum as a non-renewable natural resource, which requires proper legislation, procedures for licencing, fiscal regime, environmental and social management, and competent authorities for supervision of operations. Downstream sector development including refining and supply for the domestic market including issues of price formation are reviewed, as well as opportunities for local content development. Aspects of the integrated value chain and its public management are reviewed based on case studies of Angola, Algeria, Ghana, Nigeria, Sudan and Uganda.
